Ellen Toplin Elected Board Of Directors Second Vice Chair Of Blood Services Division For American Red Cross Penn--Jersey Region

Ellen Toplin, president and founder of Fort Washington-based public relations, marketing and advertising firm Toplin & Associates, Inc., was recently elected as the board of directors’ second vice chair for the American Red Cross, Blood Services Division, Penn-Jersey Region. Toplin, who has served on the organization’s board of directors for the past two years, also served as the board’s secretary, marketing and communications committee chair and executive committee member.

"It has been my honor to serve on the Red Cross Blood Services board and I am pleased to roll up my sleeves, not only to donate blood personally but to work diligently in our community to encourage others to do the same," said Toplin. "Working with the Red Cross Blood Services in the Penn-Jersey Region over the years has enabled me to do something meaningful for an organization that provides life-saving services."

The Penn-Jersey Region is one of 36 American Red Cross regional blood centers whose mission is to fulfill the needs of the American people and provide the safest, most reliable and cost-effective blood, plasma and tissue services through voluntary donations.

A resident of Dresher, Pa., Toplin earned her bachelor’s degree from Temple University (cum laude, 1973), and her master’s degree from Antioch College (1977). During her past 23 years in business, Toplin and her company have extended community service and pro bono efforts to organizations ranging from The ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter, to The Big Brother/Big Sister Association of Philadelphia and The Schuylkill Valley Wildlife Rehabilitation Center to SeniorLAW Center, formerly Senior Citizen Judicare Project.
