Offering 26 years of experience, Laura Feragen has handled all facets of public relations and marketing, from creating and implementing marketing plans, crisis communications, proactive and reactive media relations, community outreach, advocacy initiatives, corporate identity campaigns and special events to award-winning marketing communications including annual reports, brochures and newsletters.
Since joining Toplin & Associates in 1999 (now StarToplin), Feragen has managed marketing plans for clients ranging from health systems to assisted living facilities as well as non-profit organizations. Her expertise has enabled her to quickly understand an organization’s marketing needs and turn that into measurable business results.
Through her years of experience, Feragen has forged strong relationships with editors, reporters and producers that have resulted in meaningful media exposure for clients in key general and trade outlets, both nationally – The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Associated Press, Modern Healthcare, Managed Healthcare Executive, Good Housekeeping, Men’s Health, Investor’s Business Daily, CNN, Marketplace – and locally – The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Business Journal, Philadelphia Magazine, WPVI-TV, and WHYY-FM programs (Radio Times, Morning Edition and All Things Considered).
Prior to joining Toplin & Associates, Feragen served as manager of media relations and a marketing specialist at Pennsylvania Hospital. She also directed public relations efforts at both The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Episcopal Hospital, where she was responsible for managing integrated internal and external communications, large-scale events and fundraising efforts.
Feragen holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a concentration in advertising from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
